    THERAPY FOR SANTA BARBARA PARTNERS

Honest, grounded sex therapy for Santa Barbara residents.

Santa Barbara is a town where two very different marriages share the same zip code. One owns the view; the other keeps it running, and can't afford to live in the neighborhood it works in. Underneath both, in a way people from elsewhere underestimate, runs a low current of fire-season dread, the go-bag by the door, the debris-flow memory in Montecito, the phone that lights up with an evacuation warning during dinner. When the setting is this close to paradise, admitting the marriage feels strained or the money is frightening can feel almost ungrateful, like complaining about the weather in a place people save up to vacation to. The couples who reach me here are often holding more than the American Riviera image has room for, and the beauty around them is exactly what makes it hard to say so.

Santa Barbara is a small town wearing a famous name. Between the Mesa, the Riviera, San Roque, the Westside, and Downtown, you cross paths with the same people at Trader Joe's, at the harbor, at your kid's school, which is part of the charm and part of why some people would rather not park outside a local therapist's office. The economy is split in a way that shapes the relationships inside it. There's the wine-country and philanthropic wealth, the second homes and estates of Montecito and the upper Riviera, and the American Riviera image the whole place trades on. Then there are the people who actually run it, working at UCSB, in Goleta's tech and aerospace parks, at Cottage Hospital, in the restaurants and tasting rooms of the Funk Zone and State Street, and increasingly priced out, pushed into long 101 commutes from Ventura, Carpinteria, or Santa Maria. Isla Vista packs its own dense student world up against the campus. A lot of Santa Barbara couples are stretched between those realities, high housing costs on ordinary salaries, work that never fully clocks off, one partner commuting the coast while the other holds the home. Running under all of it is a genuine environmental anxiety that other cities don't carry the same way. The Thomas Fire, the Montecito debris flow, and every fire season since have made evacuation planning part of ordinary married life here. The postcard is real. So is the weight underneath it, and the work I do takes that weight seriously.

    About Sex Therapy

Sex therapy for individuals and couples navigating desire, intimacy, sexual identity, and the topics that are often hardest to talk about. My approach is non-judgmental, sex-positive, and inclusive of all relationship structures, identities, and orientations. We talk about what's actually going on, and we work toward what you actually want.

When the background hum of coastal cost and fire-season dread never quite stops, desire tends to be the first thing that quietly slips out of a relationship. Sex therapy online offers Santa Barbara couples a sex-positive hour for turning back toward each other, on secure video from home, with the specialized relational care that can be hard to find nearby.

Why online sessions are a good fit for Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is a small town wearing a famous city's name. Between the Mesa, the Riviera, San Roque, and the Westside, you keep crossing paths with the same people at Trader Joe's, at the harbor, at your kid's school, which is part of the charm and exactly why some people hesitate to park outside a local therapist's office. Online therapy sidesteps that quietly. It also fits how people here actually live: many who work at UCSB, in Goleta's tech and aerospace parks, or at Cottage Hospital have been pushed by housing costs into long 101 commutes toward Ventura, Carpinteria, or Santa Maria, and evening traffic on that corridor can swallow a 5pm appointment whole. Meeting by secure video means therapy happens from your own couch once the drive is behind you, not crammed into the middle of it. Because my license covers all of California, I see Santa Barbara residents entirely online, with no office here and no waiting room, just consistent, protected time that fits the life you've already got.

    • No travel time across The Mesa, Riviera, Downtown Santa Barbara
    • Sessions fit into work-from-home schedules
    • Privacy and discretion, with sessions from your own home
    • Available evenings and select weekend hours

    Frequently asked questions

    How do online sessions work?

We meet over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a link before each session and join from a private space at home. No app downloads or special equipment beyond a device with a camera and a stable internet connection.

Do I need a special app or platform?

No. The video platform runs in your browser. I'll send a link a few minutes before our session. You click, and we begin.

    Is this covered by insurance?

I'm an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I'd encourage you to call your insurance and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

How long does it take to see results?

Most people begin to feel something shift within the first several weeks. A little more clarity, a little less alone in it. Real, lasting change is a longer arc, often months of consistent weekly work. I'll be honest with you about what I see along the way.

    What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy is 24 hours. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full.

Can you see clients in Santa Barbara?

Across the Mesa and the Riviera, Downtown, the Westside, the Funk Zone, and out to Montecito, I see Santa Barbara couples and individuals in every pocket of the city. It runs online over secure video, licensed throughout California, so a pair with one partner commuting the 101 to Goleta and the other home on the Mesa can hold a weekly hour together in the same room, with no drive up the coast at 5pm. In a town where evening traffic swallows appointments whole, that is often what keeps therapy going instead of stalling out.
